How to Choose a Pet Groomer
For many pets, the pet grooming that they need is more than
the pet owner can easily provide. Many animals will need to
have their fur cut. Some just hate to be bathed. Others may
just be easier to take in for some special pampering rather
than trying to do it at home. When you are considering which
professional pet groomer to take your animal to, you will want
to consider these things in how to choose a pet groomer.
Remember that not all groomers can provide the same level of
expertise. And, not all have the same love for animals as you
do or other groomers do. For your pet, only the best will work.
Look for these things.
· Experience. Those groomers that are the most experienced
are going to do a better job. When your poodle needs a French
treatment, the last thing you want to do is put him in the hands
of someone that has never done them. Of course, if your pet
is getting his fur trimmed, you’ll want to make sure that the
person holding the clippers will not hurt your animal. Experience
is key.
· References. If the groomer can not provide you with
any references of their own (this would be strange!) then you
will want to seek them out. Ask friends and family members where
they take their animal. Look for online consumer reviews of
various groomers to find out just what the unbiased truth of
the matter is.
· Ask to stay. In most cases, you can stay with your
pet while they have their grooming done. If you plan to stay
make arrangements to do so ahead of time. Many pets are dropped
off in the morning to be picked up several hours later. If you
plan to stay, they may be able to do your animal first.
Finding a groomer that works well with your pet is essential.
If you don’t like them, or your pet doesn’t seem to want anything
to do with them, then look to another groomer. Those that are
truly going to provide a good job for you are those that will
love your pet and treat him as if he is the client.
